South Tulsa Kids - Special Needs Ministry
Hopefully you have had the opportunity to drive by the construction taking place on the south side of our church. As great as the outside is developing, the inside space is even more impressive. We had our “ground blessing” in January of 2024. As a church family, we read the following blessing over the construction site.
May these rooms be a place
Of happiness and joy,
A place of contentment,
Laughter and learning.
Let kindness and peace herein abide.
Let faith be our protection and guide.
By January 2025, we should be ready to welcome children to the SONShine Special Needs classroom and the indoor playground. We will hear laughter and witness learning.
Our special needs classroom will allow families in our community to attend worship services and Bible study. We will need to staff the SONShine Room with volunteers. Volunteers will help in one-on-one teaching times. We will share the love of Jesus with children through activity centers, Bible lessons, music and large motor play.
Who can volunteer? Adults, youth, and parents with their school age student. Could you volunteer for one hour on a Sunday morning every month or bi-monthly?
Information and training to help in preparation will be made available. Please join me in this very important ministry. I will be in the commons to answer questions you might have.
